Description:
Accelerometers operate according to the piezoelectric compression principle. In the sensor, the piezoelectric ceramic disk and the internal sensor mass form a spring-mass damping system.
If vibrations occur in this system, the mass exerts an alternating force on the ceramic disk and generates an electric charge proportional to the acceleration due to the piezoelectric effect. An integrated amplifier converts the charge signal into a usable voltage signal.
The AS-022 Accelerometers Premium quality accelerometers for a wide range of environmental, condition monitoring and machine protection applications.
Accelerometers are commonly used to measure absolute bearing vibration and bearing condition. Available models cover a wide range of frequencies and amplitudes. Measurement direction is arbitrary.
They require an external power supply (-24 Vdc or CCS/IEPE) and they operate at max. 125°C. Many types are available for use in hazardous areas.
