The GE IS400JPDDG1A is a dedicated DC power distribution module (JPDD, Jumper Power Distribution DC) in the GE Mark VIe series. This module is a new rack-specific accessory for the Mark VIe system and differs from the IS200JPDBG1A used in the older Mark VI system in terms of dimensions and backplane pins; the two are not interchangeable.
Serving as the “energy dispatcher and safety officer” within the Mark VIe rack, this board’s core responsibility is to safely and reliably distribute the dual-redundant 24V DC power input from external sources to the rack backplane, providing a stable operating power supply to controllers, I/O cards, communication modules, and other components installed in the slots.
It is important to note that this module does not perform voltage conversion or rectification; it is solely responsible for distributing the existing DC power. The actual AC/DC conversion is performed by power conversion modules such as the IS200EPSMG1A.
