The IS2020RKPSG2A is a VME rack-mounted power supply module, commonly referred to as the RKPS power supply. It is primarily used to provide a stable DC power supply to controllers, I/O boards, and function modules within a Mark VI VME rack, serving as the fundamental power supply unit for the normal operation of the control system. The module features a standalone design, provides multiple +28V outputs and status detection outputs, and indicates its operating status via front-panel LEDs.
This power supply module has a typical input voltage of 125 VDC and a rated output power of 400 W. Outputs include multiple +28V channels, remote +28V, PS335 output, and status ID output. In the event of an internal module failure, a reset may be required; alternatively, a single output channel may be temporarily shut down, or the entire module may need to be replaced.

- Confirm the System Platform: First, verify that the site uses a GE Mark VI system to avoid mixing it with Mark VIe or other platforms.
- Check the Input Power Supply: Confirm that the DC bus voltage in the control cabinet is 125 VDC, and verify the power supply polarity and protection configuration.
- Confirm the Output Power: Calculate the total power consumption of all boards in the rack to ensure that the 400 W rated output meets the actual load while allowing for a margin.
- Check Connector Definitions: Verify that interfaces such as PSA, PSB, PS125/PS24, PS335, PS28, and PSSTAT match those at the site.
- Confirm Cooling Clearance: The sides of the module feature heat sinks; ensure adequate ventilation space during installation to prevent obstruction by cables or other modules.
- Spare Parts Policy: Power modules are critical power supply components; it is recommended to stock an appropriate number of spare parts based on the importance of the unit.
During maintenance of the Mark VI control system for a gas turbine at a power plant, operators noticed occasional communication anomalies in some of the board cards within the rack. After inspection, maintenance personnel found that the red indicator light on the front panel of the VME rack's power supply module was illuminated. The 125 VDC input was normal, but there were fluctuations in some of the +28 V outputs.
Since an IS2020RKPSG2A spare part was available on-site, the maintenance team replaced the power supply module after confirming system redundancy and safety conditions, and then remeasured the output voltages of each channel. After the replacement, the rack's power supply stabilized, and the alarms on the affected boards cleared.
It is a VME rack power supply module in the GE Mark VI system, used to provide DC power to functional boards within the rack.
The typical input is 125 VDC, but refer to the physical nameplate and GE's official manual for specific details.
The typical rated output is 400 W, and the output includes multiple channels of +28 V, remote +28 V, PS335, and status ID outputs.
Typically, the warranty period for original products is 12 months.
