Installation and Usage Guidelines
- Installation: The mounting surface must be flat and free of burrs. Secure with M6 bolts tightened to 15 Nm, and align the sensitive measuring axis with the primary direction of equipment vibration
- Cables: Avoid sharp bends of less than 90°. Do not drag the armored sheath. Cables in explosion-proof areas must be fully sealed throughout their entire length
- Temperature: If the equipment surface exceeds 200°C, the MA133 thermal insulation kit must be used. Do not operate the device continuously at temperatures exceeding 260°C
- Calibration: Factory-calibrated at 5 g/120 Hz; no annual calibration is required under normal operating conditions; sensitivity may be re-tested at the factory after prolonged exposure to shock or high temperatures
- Storage: Store in a dry environment when not in use; avoid moisture and severe impacts to prevent deterioration of insulation performance
Case Study
At a coastal refining and petrochemical plant, the outlet temperature of a critical reciprocating compressor reached as high as 210°C, and the compressor room was classified as Zone 1 with Class IIB gas explosion protection. The standard accelerometers previously used frequently failed due to excessive heat and poor sealing. After discussion, the team ultimately selected the CA202 144-202-000-115, which was installed on the exhaust side of the compressor cylinder head.
This sensor model is connected via a 6-meter integral cable to a junction box in the hazardous area, and then connected through a safety barrier to a charge amplifier located in the control room. Frequently Asked Questions
Does the sensor mounting surface need to be insulated?
No. The sensor is internally insulated (with extremely high impedance between the pins and the housing). The manual explicitly states that "the mounting surface does not need to be electrically insulated," so it can be mounted metal-to-metal to ensure high-frequency transmission efficiency.
Is a 6-meter cable long enough? If not, can it be cut and reconnected?
6 meters is the standard length commonly used for installations in hazardous areas. Cutting or reconnecting the cable on your own is strictly prohibited, as the cable and sensor form a sealed, welded, integrated unit; cutting it will compromise the explosion-proof seal and insulation resistance. If a longer cable is required, you may purchase other models (144-202-000-125/135).
What is the warranty period?
Standard industrial warranty: 12 months; with proper installation and no overloading, the product has a service life of 5-10 years.
